She is a Bharatanatyam dancer and yoga therapist currently based in Bangalore, India. Originally from Vancouver, Canada, Ishwarya moved to India to pursue her passion for classical dance and all things Indian. She holds a BSc. in Environmental Sciences from the University of British Columbia, Canada, a post-graduate diploma in Yoga Therapy from S-VYASA University, and a Masters in Fine Arts from Sastra University, under the guidance of the legendary Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam.
Ishwarya’s initial training in yoga was from her father, Sri Prameya Chaitanya, disciple and former secretary of the late Pujya Sri Swami Chidananda Saraswati of the Divine Life Society, Rishikesh. She furthered her training in yoga by completing the Post-Graduate Diploma in Yoga Therapy at Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana (S‐VYASA) University in Bangalore, India and has explored various styles such as Iyengar Yoga under Sri H.S. Arun (disciple of Sri BKS Iyengar) and holds a 200 hour certificate in Ashtanga Vinyasa from the renowned Tattvaa Yogashala, Rishikesh.
She is currently working as a yoga teacher and therapist in Bangalore as well as Online Yoga therapist in Consult.Yoga. She has conducted workshops and camps in Rishikesh, Vancouver, the USA and Sri Lanka. A devotee of Pujya Sri Swami Dayananda Saraswati, Ishwarya had the privilege of sharing yoga classes during Swamiji’s camps in Rishikesh and Saylorsburg.
